HGV Class 2 Driver – Skip, RoRo & Trade Waste

About Us

Velo Recycling is an ambitious, Leeds-based waste company specialising in Skip and RoRo services. We are now starting an exciting new trade waste route and are looking for someone to play a key role in its development, alongside supporting our established skip and RoRo work.

The Role

We are therefore looking for an experienced and professional HGV Class 2 Driver to support our expanding operations. Initially, the role will focus on building and establishing a new trade waste route, while also covering skip and RoRo work as required. The role will include working covering Saturday AM on a rota as required.

This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who is flexible, proactive, and ready to contribute to a growing business. As the company develops, there is potential for the role to evolve into a full-time trade waste position or develop into a cover driver/driver supervisor position.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles across trade waste, skip, and RoRo services
• Assist in building and developing new trade waste collection routes
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects in line with compliance standards
• Ensure all loads are handled and secured safely
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to driver compliance, health & safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with the operations team and customers
• Be flexible to cover different vehicles, routes, and shifts as required

What We’re Looking For

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence with up-to-date CPC
• Proven experience in skip, RoRo, and/or trade waste operations (preferred)
• Strong understanding of driver compliance, health & safety, and daily defect reporting
• A flexible, “can-do” attitude with a willingness to adapt
• Ability to start early for trade waste routes when required
• Pride in maintaining a clean and well-presented vehicle
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, professional, and safety-focused approach to work

Pay: £37,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
