HGV Class 2 Driver/Loader

Job Summary
Caledonia ELT Recycling Limited are a waste management company specialising in Tyre Recycling. We are seeking a dedicated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team and assist with our waste tyre collections across mainland Scotland.

The successful candidates will be operating class 2 rigid vehicles, be customer facing and will have a proactive approach to safety & service.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Working with a drivers mate following a pre-planned route to collect from customer sites including loading and unloading your vehicle.
• Completing the relevant paperwork on collections required by our waste management license.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, highlighting any defects.
• Adhering to all H&S and SEPA Waste Management License regulations.
• Liaising with office, drivers and yard staff; Communicating effectively regarding any potential delays.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• General housekeeping and Ad-hoc duties when required.
• Uniforms and PPE Provided

Skills and Qualities Required:

• Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years HGV driving experience Required
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting heavy items.
• Ability to work alone and within a small team when required.
• Due to insurance conditions, we can only accept applications from candidates over 25 years of age.
