Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Hiab Driver to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating a Hiab crane, delivering goods to customers, and ensuring safe and timely deliveries. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle with Hiab crane for deliveries to various locations.
- Safely load and unload goods using the Hiab crane, ensuring all loads are secure and safely transported.
- Ensure all deliveries are made within scheduled times, while adhering to traffic laws and company procedures.
- Perform pre checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition before starting the journey.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries using PDA system, including any damage or discrepancies, and report issues to management.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations, vehicle maintenance, and health and safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a professional and polite interaction with clients and delivery recipients.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained at all times.
- Complete any additional tasks as required by the Transport team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid HGV Class 2 (C) driving license. (Class 1 also accepted )
- Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Valid Hiab qualification (HIAB operator's license & ALLMI)
- Proven experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles and operating a Hiab crane.
- Good understanding of tachograph regulations and working hours.
- Excellent knowledge of UK road networks and traffic laws.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle deliveries with care.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers.
- Flexibility to work additional hours if required.
Desirable:
- Experience in container / Accommodation deliveries.
- Experience in load securing and safety procedures.
- Forklift or other relevant certifications.
- ADR License
