Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries. Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles, including lorries and specialised trucks, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and fuel efficiency.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate with dispatch regarding delivery schedules or any delays.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks or troubleshooting as required, utilising mechanical knowledge to identify issues promptly.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including compliance with driving hours and rest periods.
- Assist with equipment operation such as excavators when necessary, supporting broader site activities.
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a background operating lorries or specialised vehicles.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to plan routes efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or road conditions.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for completing documentation accurately.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with dispatch teams and clients.

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
