HGV Driver

Deanestor are a furniture manufacturer undertaking specialist furniture contracts in Healthcare, Education, Accommodation and Laboratory sectors. We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1/2 Driver to join our Depot Operating Facilities.

Role Summary

Class 2 experience is a requirement, as this role includes a variety of collections and deliveries at our depots.

The role is contracted at 39 hours a week on a day shift Monday to Friday.

Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Offers flexibility with warehouse support.

Key Tasks

• Ensuring all driving activity is carried out in a safe, compliant and efficient manner.
• Taking accountability to ensure vehicle safety checks and housekeeping have been carried out before any work is undertaken.
• Ensuring your PPE is worn at all times.
• To manage and control safe deliveries and collections.
• To work in liaison with the Depot Operations Manager to ensure the unloading and reloading of vehicles are carried out in a timely manner and movements are properly recorded.
• To adhere to Drivers Legal Requirements (i.e. breaks, tachographs and working time directive).
• Report any vehicle defects to the Fleet Manager.
• To carry out any activities on behalf of the Company, when dealing with customers and other team members in a professional and polite manner and always representing the business positively.
• Ensuring all delivery/collection paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
• Assisting with warehouse operations, including picking & packing, loading and unloading vehicles.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full UK Driving license with Class 2 entitlement (category C) (required)
• Have at least 1 year of proven experience driving class 1 (required)
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card (required)
• No more than 3 points on license
• Have at least 1 year of warehouse experience (preferred)
• Valid Forklift license (desirable)
• Valid 1st Aid certificate (desirable)
