Main Purpose of the Role

The movement of goods between the DC and the depots, and to fulfil any general haulage requirements deemed necessary by the business, including back-loading.

• To conduct daily safety checks on the HGV vehicle allocated to them.
• Check that the goods loaded onto the trailer are stowed safely and correctly.
• Travel to the destination Depot / Customer by the safest most direct route adhering to Drivers hours’ rules & regulations.
• On return to the Depot, vehicles are to be refuelled with the relevant fuel and to be parked in their designated parking bays.
• To report any defects on the vehicles to HGV Management team through the Defect reporting system.

Personal attributes:

• Class 1 C +E HGV driving license, with a minimum 2 years HGV 1 driving experience
• HGV Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)
• Flexible approach to work patterns
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Counter balance FLT license preferable, though subject to training / refresher training during employment
