HGV Driver/ Drop Bed Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver / Drop Bed Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating flatbed lorries and drop bed vehicles to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and experience in commercial driving environments. The ideal applicant will possess a strong work ethic and a focus on customer service, contributing to the efficient operation of our delivery services.

Responsibilities

• Operate flatbed lorries and drop bed vehicles in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
• Deliver goods to various locations efficiently and punctually, ensuring accurate loading and unloading procedures
• Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
• Ensure the security of cargo during transit and at delivery points
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to promote a safe working environment
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues during transit

Qualifications

• Valid HGV licence with relevant classifications for flatbed and drop bed vehicles
• Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably as a delivery driver
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for vehicle operation
• Experience with flatbed and delivery vehicles is highly desirable
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to organise routes efficiently and manage time effectively
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• CPC Card holder
