HGV Recovery Driver (Class 2) – Birmingham

Introduction

We are a well-established vehicle recovery and roadside assistance company looking to recruit additional HGV Recovery Drivers to join our Birmingham team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with an immediate start available. The role offers a varied working day, regular overtime opportunities and a customer-facing environment where no two days are the same. Interviews will be taking place over the coming week.

Job Description

The role involves attending broken down and accident-damaged vehicles at the roadside and safely loading, transporting and delivering them to a designated destination, such as a customer’s home address, storage facility or garage. This is a hands-on, varied role combining driving, basic roadside assistance and customer interaction.

You will be dealing directly with customers at what can often be a stressful time, so strong customer service skills, professionalism and a calm approach are essential. The successful candidate must be comfortable working under pressure, adaptable to changing workloads and committed to handling vehicles with care and attention.

There are regular overtime opportunities available, including longer-distance movements and extended runs for those keen to maximise earnings. Finish times may vary depending on workload, making this ideal for someone flexible and motivated.

Licence

Full UK HGV Class 2 (LGV C) or Class 1 (LGV CE) licence required

Training

Full training will be provided at the start of employment. However, basic mechanical knowledge is essential, including the ability to change wheels and carry out jump starts.

4 days on / 4 days off
08:00 – 20:00 (flexibility required, with overtime available)
