Position Overview
We are seeking knowledgeable and dedicated High School Academic Tutors to provide comprehensive academic support across U.S. high school subjects and standardized test preparation.
The ideal candidate is able to teach one or more core academic subjects and/or test prep courses, adapt instruction to individual learning needs, and support students in achieving measurable academic progress.
Tutors may work in one-on-one or small-group settings, assisting with coursework reinforcement, homework support, exam preparation, and advanced preview of upcoming material.
Subject AreasCore Academic Subjects (U.S. High School Curriculum)
- English Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Grammar, Literature, Academic Writing)
- Mathematics (Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics)
- Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science)
- Social Studies / Humanities (U.S. History, World History, Government, Economics, Psychology, Geography)
Advanced & College-Level Courses
- AP Courses (all subjects)
- Honors-level courses
World Languages (Optional – Based on Expertise)
- Spanish
- French
- Other languages
Standardized Test Preparation
Tutors may teach one or more of the following exams based on expertise:
- SAT (Math and/or English)
- PSAT
- ISEE
- SSAT
- AMC 8 / AMC 10 / AMC 12
- TOEFL / TOEFL Junior
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized or small-group instruction aligned with student academic goals
- Reinforce school curriculum and support homework completion
- Prepare students for quizzes, exams, and standardized tests
- Preview upcoming academic content to strengthen readiness and confidence
- Develop personalized learning plans and instructional strategies
- Track student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and academic staff
- Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred for advanced subjects)
- Strong content knowledge in one or more high school subjects and/or standardized exams
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Passion for education and student success
- Availability during evenings and/or weekends (based on student demand)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
