Position Title: High School Biology and Integrated Sciences Teacher
FLSA Classification: Exempt, academic-year (10-month) position
Reports To: High School Director
Hours: 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Position Start Date: 2025-2026 school year
The Post Oak School is looking for teachers who are passionate about their work and have an optimistic view of the capacities of teenagers. Summary
The science teacher is responsible for teaching integrated general sciences for grades 9-10 and IB biology for grades 11-12. This role also requires:
Experience with and enthusiasm for participating in curricular travel opportunities is a plus.
Qualifications
The well-grounded candidate will have experience teaching high school students in the subject listed above or related fields. We are looking for people who possess:

Working with adolescent Montessori students in small classes means embracing a student-directed classroom where adults and adolescents work side-by-side. Teachers collaborate closely and pursue opportunities for cross-disciplinary integration of knowledge for their students. This often requires working outside of one’s primary subject area.
Teachers must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly fluid, and innovative workplace. The Post Oak School’s Middle and High School programs are situated in the Houston Museum District. Our academic program depends on extending the classroom work through connections and partnerships with local cultural institutions that the teaching faculty is expected to cultivate and maintain.
