High School Business Teacher

Role Overview

Academian is seeking an experienced Business and Entrepreneurship Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the design, review, and alignment of macro-level entrepreneurship courses for Texas-based programs. The SME will ensure curriculum relevance, industry alignment, and compliance with Texas education and workforce standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide subject-matter expertise for entrepreneurship and small business macro courses
• Review and advise on curriculum frameworks, learning outcomes, and assessments
• Ensure course content aligns with Texas CTE / workforce / postsecondary standards
• Incorporate real-world entrepreneurial practices, case studies, and market trends
• Support course mapping for scalability and industry relevance
• Collaborate with instructional designers, faculty, and program leadership

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as an entrepreneur, startup leader, or small business executive
• Strong understanding of entrepreneurship, business formation, finance, marketing, and operations
• Experience with curriculum development, training, or educational consulting preferred
• Familiarity with Texas education, CTE, or workforce ecosystem is a strong plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Background

• Experience working with edtech, higher education, or workforce programs
• Prior role as SME, advisor, mentor, or instructor
• Exposure to scalable program design or statewide initiatives

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
