High School Librarian - School Year 2026-2027

REPORTS TO: Building High School Administrative TeamPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.District-Wide a)Effectively promotes and communicates the districts Mission, Vision, Goals, and Values to students, parents, and the community.b)Upholds District policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.c)Demonstrates concern for and acts to assure the safety, security, and welfare of students and coworkers.d)Maintains current knowledge of school safety plan.e)Shows respect for all students, parents, coworkers, community members, and visitors and does not discriminate based on age, color, disability, national origin, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.f)Has good attendance and is punctual, notifying supervisor of illness and personal requests in a timely fashion.g)Maintains confidentiality regarding personal and work/school-related information for all students and staff of the district2.Department [Specific Job Responsibilities]a. Collection ManagementMaintain the Follett Destiny library collection & Sora eBook NM accountSelect & order resources with input from staff & studentsWeed collection as neededKeep the collection relevant to curriculum needsb. Instruction & Student SupportTeach research, citation, writing, Turnitin Draft Coach and informational literacy skillsSupport all students with citations, writing, research, digital, and hard copy projectsRun the NM Externship ProgramVHS Site Coordinatorc. Collaboration with TeachersCollaborate with staff on research, writing, and creative digital and hard copy projectsProvide CW-MARS interlibrary loan support for staff/classesMaintain the Makerspace with supplies for library-class collaborationsd.

Technology & Digital LiteracyManage digital resources: Gale databases, Ancestry K-12Maintain the NM Library websiteMaintain & support the use of library resources: 3D Printer, Silhouette Cameo Cricut, Podcasting, Touchcast, and iMovie Video Creation, Book Binding MachineAssist new students with access & support to Aspen & Google accountse. Library ManagementMaintain a welcoming, organized environment for staff & student useSupervise students using the libraryHandle circulation of resources & materialsManage budgets & orderingf. Reading & Promotion ProgramsCreate monthly library displaysRun library-schoolwide events. Examples: Notes to Influential Women for Womens History Month, Create Blackout Poetry for National Poetry Month, Give a Book Away Each Day in the-Month-of May Drawing, NANOWRIMO ContestCreate book displays for class free choice selectionsg.

Administrative DutiesDevelop library policies and proceduresTrack usage statistics, create a yearly library reportTrain library internsOversee the NM Internship Requests & Applicationsh. Community & Ethical GuidanceTeach copyright, plagiarism, (use of Turnitin Draft Coach) and proper citationEncourage and model responsible and ethical use of informationTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary to be established by the Superintendent of Schools based on the salary schedule in force at the time of hiring.EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School Committees policy on the evaluation of school personnel.Important note: All applications must be done through School Spring.
