Responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging lesson plans that cover core math topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and differential equations.
• Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse student needs, including those requiring special education accommodations.
• Utilize innovative learning technologies and instructional design techniques to enhance classroom engagement and understanding.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments; provide timely feedback to support growth.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation and respect.
• Mentor students individually or in small groups to reinforce concepts through tutoring and personalized instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral reports; contribute to academic advising sessions.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of mathematics disciplines including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, organic chemistry (as it relates to biochemistry), genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, and scientific research methods.
• Proven experience in classroom management and behavior management strategies that foster a productive learning environment.
• Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for high school students.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools such as digital whiteboards, educational software, and online assessment platforms.
• Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring students, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging with parents or guardians.
• Experience working with diverse learners including those in special education or private school settings; understanding of Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus.
• Ability to prepare students for standardized testing through targeted practice and review sessions.
• Laboratory experience including dissection techniques and research laboratory skills related to biology or chemistry courses is desirable. Pay: $45,947.00 - $64,916.00 per year
