Duties

• Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that incorporate diverse teaching methods and learning technology tools.
• Deliver compelling classroom instruction in core mathematics subjects such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete math.
• Design assessments, including standardized tests and formative evaluations, to measure student progress and inform instruction.
• Provide individualized tutoring and academic advising to support students’ unique learning needs and foster their confidence in mathematics.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and research initiatives to enhance teaching practices.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to higher education teaching methods, special education accommodations, and educational administration practices.
• Incorporate research laboratory experience and scientific research principles when applicable to enhance STEM integration within the curriculum.
• Mentor students in extracurricular activities such as math clubs or competitions to promote enthusiasm for STEM fields.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and lesson plans while proofreading instructional materials for clarity and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Proven classroom experience teaching high school mathematics with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional design.
• Expertise in key mathematical areas including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, discrete math, and molecular biology concepts where applicable.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools used for instruction and assessment in modern classrooms.
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including those requiring special education accommodations or behavior management support.
• Strong communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring, parent engagement, and collaboration with colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms efficiently while fostering an inclusive environment conducive to learning.
• Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience tutoring students for academic success.
• Background in scientific research or laboratory experience is advantageous for integrating STEM topics into lessons.
