Position Overview: The High School Science Lab Technician will support the daily activities, planning, and supervision of students in the Science Lab, under the guidance and supervision of the teaching specialist assigned to the laboratory. This will include the setup and removal of all science experiments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and as well as remove experiments and other required resources
- Purchase and order required materials for laboratory work
- Manage inventory and keep the science classrooms organized
- Manage other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Provide substitute cover for science teachers
- Participate in group laboratory work
- Complete assigned daily admin tasks

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional English speaking skills
- The ability to inspire students
- Full understanding and support of the school's philosophy
- Prior experience in an educational setting preferred
- Knowledge of the relevant subject(s) preferred
Terms of Employment:
General working hours are from 7:45 am - 3:45 pm, Monday through Thursday and 7:45 am - 12:45 pm (on site) & 2:30 pm - 3:45 pm (remote/flexible) on Fridays. In some cases, flexibility with work hours is requested to meet the needs of the role. An annual limited period contract will be issued stipulating 186 working days within the year, as per the school’s published calendar.
Friday is considered as a full working day for employees and the school reserves the right to schedule afternoon meetings and/or events where the employee’s presence is required. Employees should plan to be available and ready to respond to work-related requests on Friday afternoons unless an approved leave of absence has been applied for and approved through the usual and customary leave request process in advance. Any absence on a Friday will be considered a full-day absence.
