High School Science Teacher

North Clay CUSD #25 is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an innovative educator committed to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment, specializing in preparing students for post-secondary science education and careers.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

The High School Science Teacher will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Instruction & Curriculum: Develop and implement engaging and rigorous science lessons (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or integrated science, depending on need). Align curriculum with state learning standards.
  • Laboratory Management: Oversee and manage safe, effective, and hands-on laboratory activities and demonstrations, ensuring all equipment is maintained and safety protocols are followed.
  • Assessment: Design and administer various formative and summative assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaboration: Actively participate in departmental, school-wide, and district-level collaboration, contributing to curriculum development and school goals.
  • Technology Integration: Effectively use educational technology to enhance instruction, communication, and student data tracking.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid State Illinois Teaching Certification or license (PEL) in High School Science (grades 9-12).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern pedagogical practices, assessment strategies, and classroom management techniques.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Science.

Salary/Benefits

NCCUSD#25 Salary and Benefits is based upon the Collective Bargaining Agreement

  • Salary range of $42,411 to $78,660, dependent upon years of experience and education.
  • Above salary range includes TRS contribution of 9%.
  • District provided insurance contribution
