Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative learning technology and diverse instructional methods.
  • Deliver engaging lessons in core subjects such as Math, English, Science, and Social Studies, utilizing strong communication skills to connect with students of varying abilities.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback to support growth.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Mentor and support students academically and socially, including those with special education needs or in need of additional tutoring or academic advising.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, extracurricular activities such as sports coaching or creative writing clubs, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance; prepare reports for school administration as required.
  • Small classrooms (at most 8 students).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification preferred.
  • Proven classroom experience working with high school students across diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong knowledge of core subjects including, English (Creative Writing, AP Style), Latin, Science, and Social Studies. We follow a classical curriculum.
  • Familiarity with learning technology tools and digital resources to enhance instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills—public speaking, copy editing, proofreading—and the ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles.
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, standardized testing preparation, and classroom management techniques.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and special education strategies is a plus.
  • Ability to mentor students effectively while fostering a supportive classroom environment that promotes literacy education and physical education when applicable. Pay: $52,000.00 per year
