Hilton Columbus at Easton Overnight Maintenance/Security-- $20.00/hr!

POSITION PURPOSE:

Maintain a safe environment at the Hilton Columbus at Easton for all guests and team members. When necessary assist at any Olshan Properties Easton Hotels. Monitor and respond to building systems and areas to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable operation of the hotel according to all Olshan Properties standards.

We conduct pre-employment drug screens/ background checks on all applicants.

No Licenses required for this position. CPR Certified preferred. Alcohol Awareness Training preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform safety and security inspections of the entire hotel, grounds and parking lot. Investigate noise complaints, assist with medical emergencies, guest and team member safety and security. Understand all Life Safety Systems and take control in emergency situations.
  • Resolve guest complications.
  • Collect information for investigation of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activities. Document details and advise management.
  • Prepare daily reports.
  • Perform daily activities to include, but not limited to property rounds, monitoring weather conditions including snow and ice, salting/shoveling sidewalks and all entrances as needed, pick up trash, deliver guest folios or items as needed, pick up room service cards.
  • Close and open the swimming pool, exterior doors, and meeting rooms as needed.
  • Assist managers, engineers, valet, night audit, and other Olshan Properties at Easton as needed to cover where needed.
  • Support the HotSos or other maintenance work order programs throughout the hotel. Learn and utilize all essential functions of HotSos or other maintenance work order programs, from accepting, starting, stopping if needed, adding notes, adding pictures, etc. on all Service Orders and PM orders.
  • Give all Emergencies & Guest Occupied rooms the Highest Priority. Check work orders daily to follow up on any that needed parts or any that may be left from the previous day.
  • Perform repair work given on all service orders and PM Orders and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Perform guest room calls; such as, light plumbing maintenance, WIFI, remotes, HVAC etc. public space and service area preventative maintenance using the approved check list and/or work requests. This will include, but not limited to, replacing lamps, repairing wall paper, caulking, tile grout, faucets, toilets, changing filters, furniture repair, painting, etc. Maintain Hilton logs and inspection sheets.
  • Possess basic knowledge of the carpentry, painting, commercial heating and air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical disciplines.
  • Possess basic knowledge and skill with both hand operated and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to react quickly/decisively to changes in the Hotel.
  • Ability to perform tasks while bending, stooping, kneeling, or standing while supporting additional weight up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of times, climb stairs, ladders or use a man lift to work at heights up to 30 feet, often reaching overhead.
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, and/or otherwise move supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs., occasionally waist high.
  • Ability to communicate telephonically, face-to-face, and over a hand-held two way radio.
  • Ability to hear a change in pitch of high speed mechanical equipment.
  • Visual ability to read manufacturer’s instructions, correspondence.
  • Possess a basic ability to read and write and speak English, to comprehend and communicate instructions to both the hotel and its clients. Be able to complete checklists, reports and document evenings activities.
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and to effectively deal with the internal and external guests, some of whom require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and solve guest concerns.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines, must be productive in quantity and quality of work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a 365 day 24 hour environment.
  • Ability to use finger/hand movements for extended periods of time. Finger and hand dexterity to manipulate switches, writing instruments, a computer keyboard, etc.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
