HIM Operations Manager

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Certification: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years in an HIM setting with management experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Epic, 3M and Microsoft Office Suite

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations of Health Information Management (HIM) department, including document imaging, record storage, and retention.
• Compliance & Privacy: Ensure all health information practices comply with HIPAA, federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations.
• EHR System Management: Supervise Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system integrity and train staff on system upgrades.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor metrics to analyze, improve, and report on departmental performance, such as coding accuracy or turnaround times.
