Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing eye conditions, performing surgical procedures, and providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures such as cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, retinal procedures, and other eye surgeries as per expertise
- Conduct thorough eye examinations and diagnose ocular diseases
- Provide pre-operative evaluation and post-operative follow-up care
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and infection control guidelines
- Maintain accurate medical records and surgical documentation
- Collaborate with optometrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Counsel patients and their families regarding treatment plans and surgical outcomes
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy and clinical examination components
- Proven hands-on experience in ophthalmology coding and documentation
- In-depth understanding of US healthcare coding guidelines and payer policies (preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
