Hiring HGV Class 1 drivers

Overview
We are seeking minimum 6 months to 1 year experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to join our team. This role involves operating curtain-sided triler or the delivery of goods across various sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, with a focus on safe and efficient transportation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking to utilise their skills within a dynamic logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries, including curtain-sided vehicles, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct pre-journey checks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
• Deliver goods to designated locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
• Secure loads appropriately on flatbed trailers to prevent movement during transit
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and route logs
• Maintain communication with the dispatch team regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
• Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with relevant 6 moths to 1 year driving experience in class 1
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail in completing documentation
• Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings or late finishes if necessary
