Role Overview

The Manager – Cost & Estimation is responsible for leading and managing cost estimation activities for all incoming projects. This role ensures accurate, competitive, and timely preparation of cost proposals, budgets, BOQs, and pricing strategies. The manager collaborates closely with engineering, procurement, project management, and finance teams to support business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare detailed cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Review tender documents and identify technical and commercial requirements.
• Develop item-wise costing, BOQs, rate analysis, and cost breakdowns.
• Ensure estimates align with current market pricing and internal cost standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide cost recommendations during pre-bid stages.

2. Tender & Proposal Management

• Lead the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for clarifications, deviations, and risk assessment.
• Analyze competitor pricing and market conditions to optimize bids.

3. Coordination & Collaboration

• Work closely with procurement to gather up-to-date supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Communicate with engineering and project teams to ensure estimate accuracy.
• Participate in client meetings, pre-bid discussions, and negotiations when required.

4. Cost Control & Optimization

• Evaluate project cost performance and support cost-control initiatives.
• Update costing databases, benchmarking data, and pricing templates.
• Recommend cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.

5. Team Management

• Lead and mentor the estimation team.
• Ensure compliance with internal estimation standards and methodologies.
• Provide training to improve team competency and accuracy.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in cost estimation, tendering, or quantity surveying.
