Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Waiter/Waitress/Sushi Chef, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This position combines the art of attentive service with the skill of preparing and presenting high-quality sushi and Japanese cuisine. You will be the face of our restaurant, ensuring every guest feels welcomed, valued, and satisfied. Whether taking orders, serving food, or crafting sushi masterpieces, your enthusiasm and professionalism will elevate our reputation for fine dining excellence.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Prepare and present sushi and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to food safety standards
- Manage table settings, clear dishes, and assist with bussing to maintain a clean and inviting environment
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties using POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
- Maintain sanitation standards in food handling areas, kitchen spaces, and dining rooms in compliance with health regulations
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience with a focus on food service, guest relations, or hospitality preferred
- Culinary experience or training in sushi preparation is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order processing and sales tracking
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and restaurant revenue
- Basic math skills for cash handling and billing accuracy
- Experience in fine dining environments or nightclubs is a plus but not required
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
