Joobilo Academic Community is seeking a qualified, passionate History & Art teacher for part-time, in-person instruction at our Whittier and Fountain Valley campuses. This position is ideal for educators who value high academic standards, thoughtful instruction, and meaningful relationships with students—while still believing learning should be engaging and inspiring.

About Joobilo Academic Community

Joobilo is a homeschool academic organization serving students Kindergarten through 12th grade. We offer academically rich, in-person classes two to three days per week in partnership with families. Our program emphasizes a strong academics, a fun and respectful classroom culture, and age-appropriate engagement. Familiarity with Classical Education is preferred but not required.

Position Details

• Position Type: Part-Time, Contract
• School Year: 2025–2026
• Instruction Format: In-person only

Schedule

• Mondays – Whittier: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
• Thursdays – Fountain Valley: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
• Paid prep and grading time provided

Key Responsibilities

• Implement well-prepared lesson plans aligned with academic objectives
• Deliver instruction in a clear, engaging, and developmentally appropriate manner
• Foster a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, and academically focused
• Maintain consistent classroom management in accordance with program guidelines
• Communicate professionally and effectively with families, colleagues, and administrators
• Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and student needs
• Support students across the campus in accordance with Joobilo policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience (credential not required)
• Experience working with elementary and/or junior high students
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement curriculum
• Proven classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students and families
• Physical ability to move throughout the classroom and campus as needed

Compensation

$Starting at $23 (based on experience)
Includes paid preparation and grading time
