HOA Portfolio Community Manager

HOA Community Portfolio Manager – Tucson

Pride Community Management | Tucson, Arizona

An Experienced Portfolio Role — With a Team Behind You

Pride Community Management is a growing Arizona HOA firm managing nearly 100 communities across the Phoenix Metro and Tucson markets. We are not a traditional management company. Over the past two decades we have built one of the most respected names in Arizona HOA management — and over the past two years we have rebuilt our operating model from the inside out around technology, sharper processes, and a leadership team that takes pride in doing this work better than anyone else in the state.

We are looking for an experienced Community Portfolio Manager to take ownership of our Tucson book. This is not an entry-level role, and it is not a step-up role. It is built for a seasoned HOA professional who already knows how to run a portfolio and wants to do it inside a firm that has built real support around the position.

The Honest Picture of This Role

An HOA portfolio can look heavier on paper than it is in practice, and we want to be transparent about the reality of this one.

You will not be running this portfolio alone. You lead a Tucson team — you, a dedicated compliance specialist, and two assistants — and the work is shared and supported across that team. Beyond that:

  • The communities are small — most with fewer than 50 homes
  • Only a handful hold regular board meetings; the rest are low-activity or accounting-focused and need little recurring attention
  • Your compliance specialist handles violations and enforcement, so that workload is off your plate
  • Your two assistants share the day-to-day execution with you

The recurring intensity of this job — meeting prep, evening meetings, action items — is concentrated in a manageable handful of active communities. The single biggest predictor of success here is delegation. If you try to do everything yourself, any portfolio feels overwhelming. If you are genuinely skilled at directing your team — handing the right work to the right people and following up — this role runs smoothly. We are looking for someone who orchestrates, not someone who insists on doing every task personally.

Who We're Looking For

This role is built for an experienced HOA professional who has managed a portfolio before and is confident running one with limited hand-holding.

You are:

  • A genuinely strong delegator — you direct your assistants effectively rather than absorbing every task yourself. This is the single most important skill for success in this role.
  • Quick on your feet — composed and articulate when challenged in a board meeting or a tense moment
  • Transparent — with boards, with homeowners, and with your team. You surface problems early rather than hiding them.
  • Exceptional at follow-through — when you say something will happen, it happens, and nothing falls through the cracks
  • Comfortable with technology and genuinely open to new tools and workflows

This role is not for someone brand new to the industry, and not for someone whose habits are locked in from years at a legacy shop. You should be ready to direct a team, embrace a faster-moving environment, and work with better tools than you are probably used to.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of HOA communities across the Tucson area
  • Direct the day-to-day workload of two assistants — assigning, prioritizing, and following through to completion
  • Partner with our compliance specialist to keep enforcement consistent across communities
  • Build strong working relationships with boards, homeowners, and vendors
  • Prepare for and run board meetings, including some evening meetings
  • Drive board action items to completion — we measure follow-through
  • Coordinate vendors, proposals, and project oversight
  • Monitor financials, budgets, and reserve projects in partnership with our accounting team
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in CINC and our internal systems

Where Pride Is Headed

Pride has spent the last two years investing heavily in technology, automation, and process improvement. Our goal is straightforward: give our managers more time on what matters — relationships, strategy, and community outcomes — and less time on repetitive admin work.

Our managers work with a meaningfully different toolkit than what you will find at most Arizona firms. We will walk you through specifics as you move through our interview process.

If working in an environment where leadership is actively building tools to make your job easier excites you, you will fit in here. If you would rather things stay the way they have always been, this is not your firm.

Qualifications: HOA experience required. This is not a general property management role. Apartment, multifamily, condo rental, or commercial property management experience does not substitute for direct HOA community management experience. Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement.

  • Experienced HOA community management background, including prior portfolio management
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with HOA boards and homeowners
  • Experience directing, coordinating, or delegating work to support staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • CAAM certification preferred — if you don't have it, we will support you in earning it
  • Familiarity with CINC or comparable HOA management software
  • Comfort with technology and openness to new workflows
  • Reliable transportation for community site visits across the Tucson area
  • Professional, solution-oriented approach to difficult conversations

Create Your Own Raise

Salary range: $52,000 – $72,000 depending on experience and portfolio scope.

At Pride, your compensation is not capped by a salary band. We have built three ways for you to grow your earnings — and they are designed to compound:

1. Portfolio Growth As your portfolio grows in size and complexity, your base compensation grows with it. No waiting for an annual review or a corporate budget cycle. When you take on more, you earn more.

2. New Business Origination Incentives Pride pays direct incentive compensation to managers who help bring new communities into the firm. If you have relationships with builders, developers, board members, or property owners considering a management change, your network becomes a recurring revenue stream for you. Most firms in this market do not offer this upside to their managers — we built it specifically to reward the people who actively help us grow.

3. Career Trajectory We promote based on capability, not tenure. For the right person, this role is a path, not a destination: strong, sustained performance managing the Tucson portfolio opens the opportunity to grow into the Director role for our Tucson market. We are not interested in dangling a title — we are interested in finding someone who earns it. The ceiling here is set by you, not by the org chart.

The structure is simple: do the work, grow the book, get paid. Top performers at Pride earn meaningfully more than their peers at the larger firms.

What We Provide

  • Company phone
  • Mileage reimbursement for community site visits
  • Paid time off that grows with your tenure — one week of vacation after 90 days, with additional time accruing at later milestones
  • Genuine flexibility for life outside work — family priorities, doctor appointments, school events. We trust our team to manage their time and deliver their work; we don't measure productivity in chair-time.
  • CAAM certification support for managers committed to a long-term career here
  • Health insurance contribution program for established managers (eligibility and details discussed at offer stage)
  • Direct access to leadership and a clear, near-term path to expanded responsibility and compensation

As a smaller, founder-led firm, our trade-off is honest: we do not offer the kind of large corporate benefits packages you would find at a 150-person firm. What we offer instead is faster growth, real ownership of your portfolio, genuine flexibility, and a direct stake in where this company goes next.
