Hollow Spindle Lathe Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hollow Spindle Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes and related machining equipment to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and quality control standards to ensure the highest level of product accuracy and efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, including CNC milling machines and CNC programming to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes.
  • Program and troubleshoot Fanuc controls, CAM programming, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify dimensions.
  • Maintain and adjust tooling on CNC machines, press brake machines, stamping presses, and fabrication equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and ensure optimal operation.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to meet specifications.
  • Handle materials safely using forklifts or other warehouse equipment when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly lines, fabrication tasks, and materials handling to meet production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing facility.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar for part design review.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls, CAM programming, GD&T principles, and CNC programming skills.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, fabrication processes, welding, and materials handling.
  • Ability to read blueprints accurately and utilize precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience with factory safety protocols including the use of hand tools and machinery safety procedures.
  • Warehouse experience or familiarity with packaging and assembly line operations is a plus.
  • Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during machining processes.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced machining technology in a dynamic manufacturing setting while contributing to high-quality production standards.
