Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and innovative Home Accessories Design Intern to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and refining a diverse range of home accessories that enhance interior environments and reflect current design trends. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in product development, graphic and digital design, and mechanical understanding, enabling the creation of functional and aesthetically appealing accessories. Duties

• Develop initial concepts and detailed designs for home accessories using advanced CAD software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Revit, SolidWorks, Creo, and Maya.
• Create comprehensive digital visualizations and prototypes utilizing Adobe Creative Suite tools including Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as KeyShot for realistic rendering.
• Conduct design research to stay informed of emerging trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques relevant to furniture and home accessory design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, manufacturing, packaging, and fabrication specialists to ensure designs are feasible for production.
• Prepare technical drawings and specifications that communicate design intent clearly for fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Apply principles of mechanical knowledge and mechanical design to ensure product durability, safety, and functionality.
• Engage in iterative testing and refinement of prototypes to optimize aesthetics, ergonomics, and structural integrity.
• Support the integration of sustainable practices into design processes by selecting eco-friendly materials and efficient manufacturing methods.
• Contribute to packaging design that enhances product presentation while ensuring protection during transit.
• Utilize design thinking methodologies to solve complex problems creatively while maintaining user-centric focus.

Experience

• Proven experience in home accessories or furniture design with a strong portfolio demonstrating digital modeling skills using SketchUp, Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.
• Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite for visual communication.
• Familiarity with 3D rendering software like KeyShot or Maya for creating realistic product visualizations.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication techniques for home accessories and furniture components.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles related to product durability and safety.
• Experience conducting design research to inform innovative product solutions.
• Ability to translate conceptual ideas into detailed technical drawings ready for production.
• Background in product development from concept through prototyping to final manufacturing stages is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
