Home Care Assistant

University Home Care Inc is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to provide quality in-home care to our clients in Westland, MI. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being in a respectful and supportive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
  • Help with mobility and transferring clients safely within their homes.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including meal preparation, laundry, and housekeeping.
  • Provide companionship and support to clients, encouraging social interaction and mental engagement.
  • Monitor clients’ health and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff or family members.
  • Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with all relevant health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a home care or healthcare setting is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients and families.
  • Reliable, patient, and caring attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks.
