Core Clinical Duties & Responsibilities

The Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive, and compassionate nursing care in the patient's private residence:

  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct detailed initial and ongoing patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and collaboratively develop and implement physician-approved individualized Patient Care Plans.
  • Skilled Nursing Care: Execute advanced clinical procedures with high accuracy, including:
  • Medication administration (oral, injections, IV/Infusion therapy).
  • Specialized and complex wound care, dressing changes, and pressure ulcer management.
  • Care and maintenance of medical devices (e.g., central lines, catheters, tracheostomy tubes, feeding tubes, and oxygen delivery systems).
  • Emergency & Monitoring: Proactively monitor patient conditions, recognize deviations or critical changes, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions (including CPR) until Emergency Medical Services arrive.
  • Patient and Family Education: Provide thorough education to patients and family caregivers on disease management, medication schedules, proper use of medical equipment, and self-care techniques to promote independence.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records, clinical notes, and shift reports using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, adhering strictly to DHA standards.

III. Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Independence & Judgment: Demonstrated ability to practice autonomously, exercise sound clinical judgment, and perform critical problem-solving without immediate supervision.
  • Communication: Fluency in professional English (written and verbal) is essential. Arabic and/or other common expatriate languages (Hindi, Tagalog, Malayalam) are a strong advantage.
