Duties
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration following prescribed schedules and medical terminology guidelines while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality.
- Provide specialized care including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice support, catheter care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with mobility using proper techniques to ensure safety during transfers.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote overall well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment to support home & community care standards.
- Document medical records thoroughly and accurately to ensure seamless communication among healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home health or long-term care settings, including assisted living or nursing homes.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and vital signs monitoring.
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required; additional certifications such as hospice care or dementia training are a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
- Ability to operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR systems efficiently for documentation purposes.
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and excellent patient observation skills essential for quality patient care.
- Physical ability to perform caregiving duties including lifting with Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility tasks safely. Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
