Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential support and care to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. As a Home Health Aide, you will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment for those in your care.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Monitor and document vital signs and report any changes in the client's condition.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper medication management.
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe living environment.
- Support clients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide hospice care when needed, ensuring comfort and dignity for clients at the end of life.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is beneficial.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications in caregiving or nursing assistance are a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is highly valued.
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions effectively.
- Ability to perform basic medical tasks such as catheter care and vital sign checks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
