Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Home Health Aide (HHA), where you will play a vital role in providing personalized, high-quality care to individuals in their homes. As an HHA, you will work closely with clients to promote independence and comfort, ensuring they receive respectful and attentive care in a safe environment.
Duties
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems
- Support patients with medication administration following medical guidelines and HIPAA regulations
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments, including memory care techniques
- Assist with catheter care, wound care, and hospice-related needs while maintaining patient dignity and comfort
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform transfers safely to prevent injury
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning and laundry to maintain a healthy living environment
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records or EHR systems and communicate updates to healthcare teams effectively
- Support patients during emergencies by recognizing symptoms and responding appropriately with CPR or other first aid procedures
- Engage in ongoing training related to medical terminology, dementia care, hospice support, and working with individuals with disabilities
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to observe patient conditions carefully and report changes promptly
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require specialized memory or dementia care is advantageous
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and HIPAA compliance is essential
- Hands-on experience operating medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or vital signs monitors is desirable
- Long-term care experience or home & community care background will strengthen your application
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications such as hospice care or catheter care are a plus
- Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication skills within a team setting
