Home Health Aide (HHA)

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides (HHAs) to provide exceptional in-home care to clients across various settings. The ideal candidate will support patients with daily living activities, monitor health status, and promote independence while ensuring safety and comfort. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with their health and well-being. Prior experience in senior care, assisted living, or long-term care environments is highly valued, along with familiarity with medical terminology and documentation systems. The position involves working closely with clients who have diverse needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, and developmental disabilities, within a home or community setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and observe patient health status, including vital signs and overall condition
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and documentation protocols
  • Support patients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies
  • Operate EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping
  • Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other specialized medical tasks as trained
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance patient well-being
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Use assistive devices like Hoyer lifts safely to support patient mobility and prevent injury
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans and report any changes in condition

Requirements

  • Valid Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or equivalent licensure required
  • Prior experience in home health, hospice, nursing home, assisted living, or long-term care preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical documentation procedures
  • Certifications in CPR and first aid required or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently while following care plans and protocols accurately
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to provide high-quality patient care
  • Ability to work flexible hours including live-in arrangements if needed; availability for shifts that may include evenings or weekends is a plus
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation purposes is preferred

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
