Home Health Aide (STNA) - PRN

Join our dedicated non-medical home healthcare team as a PRN (as needed) Home Health Aide (HHA), where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality home care to clients in the comfort of their home. As an HHA, you will work closely with the office management team to support patient needs, promote comfort, and ensure a safe environment for clients in their own home. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and medical care. PRN roles have the opportunity to become part-time or even full-time with your determination to grow with the agency.

<Responsibilities>

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
  • Perform light-duty housekeeping including laundry, dishes, tidying living spaces, sanitizing frequently used areas.
  • Provide companionship to clients such as conversation, emotional support, engaging clients in hobbies or cognitive activities.
  • Assist with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, accompanying clients to appointments.
  • Document patient outcomes and care by ensuring proper documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Alora or Homecare Homebase.
  • Provide specialized care for individuals with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities, utilizing techniques like aseptic procedures and memory care strategies.
  • Follow procedures for successful electronic visit verification (EVV) processes mandated by the 21st Century Cures Act implemented by the State for home health in-home visits by a provider
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, including proper use of PPE and aseptic techniques during patient interactions.
  • Document patient care activities thoroughly in medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in diverse settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), outpatient clinics, hospice, or home care environments to deliver comprehensive patient service.

<Requirements>

  • Valid certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or equivalent credential recognized by state licensing boards, and CPR certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and an active auto insurance policy.
  • Upon hire applicants must complete a fingerprint-based background check. Preemployment background checks are at the cost of the applicant and are fully reimbursed upon hire for persons WITHOUT disqualifying offenses which are terminations of employment. Agency will run additional background checks, both state and federal, available in public databases to also determine employment.
  • Must have experience working in home healthcare. It's a plus if you have additional experience in various healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
  • Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Alora, MyUnity, Carecenta or similar platforms for medical documentation and patient records management.
  • Familiarity with Sandata or electronic visit verification (EVV) preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to physiology, anatomy, medication administration, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Prior experience in post-acute care, behavioral health, or geriatrics is highly valued.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting with Hoyer lifts and assisting patients with mobility challenges while maintaining safety standards.

<Incentives>

If you bring your own private pay client we will provide a $250 incentive after 30-days of consecutive current billing and reimbursement.
