Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide essential support and care to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including geriatrics and emergency medicine, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of patient needs and the ability to deliver care with empathy and professionalism. THE SHIFT IS 9AM-2PM; SATURADAY AND SUNDAY (10 HOURS A WEEK)
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor and record patient health information, reporting any changes in condition to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Ensure a safe living environment by maintaining cleanliness and organization within the home.
- Collaborate with medical staff as needed, utilizing knowledge from experiences in settings such as outpatient clinics, teaching hospitals, or Level I Trauma Centers.
- Support clients with mobility issues, ensuring their safety during transfers and ambulation.
- Engage in ongoing communication with family members regarding the care plan and client progress.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare settings such as hospitals or clinics is preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatrics and familiarity with medical-surgical practices is an asset.
- Ability to perform basic medical tasks related to inpatient care and hospital medicine.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and their families.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively; experience in emergency medicine is a plus.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
