Hospice facility House Keeper

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hospice Facility House Keeper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our hospice care facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong custodial skills, experience in environmental services, and a commitment to providing a hygienic space that supports patient comfort and staff efficiency. This role is vital in ensuring adherence to health and safety standards while fostering a respectful and compassionate atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and hallways using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques.
• Ensure all surfaces, floors, and equipment are sanitized according to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and hospital protocols.
• Maintain proper waste disposal procedures, including the handling of biohazard materials, to uphold sanitation standards.
• Conduct routine floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to preserve cleanliness and safety.
• Restock supplies in restrooms and patient areas while monitoring inventory levels for janitorial products.
• Follow established environmental services procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure infection control.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management for resolution.

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or hospital settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to cleaning, sanitation, and safety practices within medical environments.
• Demonstrated experience with commercial cleaning equipment and floor care techniques.
• Familiarity with environmental services protocols specific to hospice or healthcare facilities.
• Experience working with biohazard waste disposal procedures is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed cleaning schedules and safety guidelines.
