HIRING: HOSPICE RN
Location: Dearborn and Livonia
Job Overview
The Hospice RN provides skilled nursing care to terminally ill patients in their homes, nursing facilities, or inpatient hospice units. You will act as the primary point of contact for the patient and family, coordinating an interdisciplinary team (social workers, chaplains, and aides) to manage pain, symptoms, and emotional needs during the final stages of life.
Responsibilities
- Assessing and managing physical symptoms such as pain, respiratory distress, and nausea to ensure patient comfort
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team (physicians, social workers, and chaplains) to develop and update individualized care plans
- Teaching caregivers how to administer medications and what to expect during the end-of-life process
- Providing a compassionate presence and addressing the psychosocial needs of both the patient and their grieving family members
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and continuity of care
- Responding to urgent physical or emotional changes in the patient's condition, often in a home-based or facility setting
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse License in the State of Michigan
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Hospice
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to navigate sensitive conversations.
- The ability to work independently, especially in home-care settings, and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Ability to assist with patient transfers and travel between various patient locations.
- Must have a driver’s license or reliable transportation
