Performs clerical duties pertaining to Insurance claims process as assigned. Processes and bill insurance claims for all hospital and hospital based physician bills; pursues collection of all claims until payment is made by insurance companies; and performs other work associated with the billing process.

  • Monitor and maintain established District AR goals.
  • Monitor and maintain established Department AR goals
  • Monitor and maintain timely filing write off goals.
  • Secures needed medical documentation required or requested by third party insurances. Monitor claims for missing information and authorization/control numbers.
  • Process third-party insurance rejections to patients and resubmit claims as need. Follow up with third-party insurance carriers on unpaid claims.

Experience

Six months to one year related experience and/or training, including customer service; or equivalent combination of education and

experience.

Medical terminology, medical insurance experience preferred but not required.


Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
