Job Summary:
College Medical Center is searching for a Human Resource Manage. The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of Human Resources for designated departments or facilities. Responsibilities include hiring and interviewing staff, employee relations, regulatory compliance, administering pay, benefits, leave, and enforcing facility policies and practices.
Job Description:
- Effectively runs the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources department ensuring the department’s paper flow operates efficiently.
- Effectively maintains H.R. database and produces high quality documents and reports.
- Effectively creates fliers, posters and various other marketing systems for all employee-related activities and prepares for such events.
- Effectively oversees the facilitation of all benefits open enrollments and assists employees in signing up for different benefits and any related questions.
- Assists Director with employee recognition projects and various projects as assigned.
- Completes quarterly Turnover and Vacancy Survey for HASC in a timely manner.
- Effectively works with Payroll to ensure that employees on various leaves of absence are paid appropriately and PTO/SSL is also paid correctly over the leave of absence period.
- Works with the Director on all workers’ compensation claims reducing unnecessary utilization.
- Processes all employee involuntary termination paperwork, ensures final check is presented timely, hospital property is returned and exit interviews completed. Records termination in the HRIS system. Compiles a termination report annually for the Director.
- Under the supervision of the Director, properly represents the hospital to outside parties and organizations and deals effectively with all relevant outside agencies/attorneys and legal decisions and laws.
- Assists with facility/unit compensation practices. Under the direction of the Director, analyzes Compensation trends in local market and makes recommendations to ensure facility/unit is positioned to attract and retain top talent.
- Implements and monitors an ongoing mechanism for the verification of current licensure/certification of applicable personnel.
- Effectively provides advice and counsel to hospital employees and managers on disciplinary policy and procedure interpretations, grievance administration, discrimination charge cases, and other employee labor matters in accordance with established guidelines.
- Effectively functions as a liaison between employees and managerial staff in the investigation of causes of disputes and grievances; recommends corrective action as appropriate.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, termination, and investigations.
- Responsible for employee terminations and the management of the exit interview process.
- Makes appropriate policy recommendations to the Director.
Qualifications:
- Five years of healthcare human resources management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources with two years’ experience with increasing scope of responsibility.
- Certificate or professional designation in Human Resource Management preferred.
- Strong people skills, persuasiveness, detailed oriented, flexible, strong communication skills.
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for College Medical Center, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that College Medical Center in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
