Hospital Pharmacist

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and hospital policies.
• Review prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, possible drug interactions, and allergies.
• Provide drug information and guidance to doctors, nurses, and patients regarding safe and effective use of medicines.
• Maintain proper storage, stock levels, and records of medicines, including narcotics and controlled substances as per regulations.
• Monitor patients’ medication therapy to ensure optimal outcomes and report adverse drug reactions (ADR).
• Participate in clinical rounds and collaborate with healthcare teams for patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, drug laws, and quality standards.
• Prepare and dispense IV fluids, chemotherapy, and other specialized formulations (if applicable).
• Conduct periodic audits and inventory checks to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Educate patients about dosage, side effects, and lifestyle modifications related to medications.
• Support training programs for pharmacy interns and staff.
