Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and hospital policies.
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, possible drug interactions, and allergies.
- Provide drug information and guidance to doctors, nurses, and patients regarding safe and effective use of medicines.
- Maintain proper storage, stock levels, and records of medicines, including narcotics and controlled substances as per regulations.
- Monitor patients’ medication therapy to ensure optimal outcomes and report adverse drug reactions (ADR).
- Participate in clinical rounds and collaborate with healthcare teams for patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, drug laws, and quality standards.
- Prepare and dispense IV fluids, chemotherapy, and other specialized formulations (if applicable).
- Conduct periodic audits and inventory checks to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Educate patients about dosage, side effects, and lifestyle modifications related to medications.
- Support training programs for pharmacy interns and staff.
