Qualification: D.Pharm / B.Pharm (Registered with State Pharmacy Council)
Experience: As per hospital policy

Job Summary:

To ensure safe, effective, and rational dispensing of medicines as per prescription and hospital policies while maintaining statutory compliance and NABH standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Dispense medicines as per valid prescription of Registered Medical Practitioner.
• Verify prescription for correctness (dose, frequency, drug interactions).
• Maintain proper storage of medicines (temperature control, FEFO/FIFO system).
• Check expiry dates regularly and remove near-expiry/expired stock.
• Maintain narcotic and schedule drug records as per Drugs & Cosmetics Act.
• Maintain stock register, inward/outward entries and inventory control.
• Ensure availability of emergency drugs in crash cart.
• Provide patient counselling regarding dosage and precautions.
• Monitor look-alike and sound-alike (LASA) medicines carefully.
• Follow infection control practices in pharmacy area.
• Maintain daily temperature log of refrigerator and pharmacy area.
• Participate in medication error reporting and pharmacovigilance.
• Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding drug availability.
• Ensure compliance with NABH and statutory requirements.
• Assist in internal audits and inspections.
