Hospitality Custodian
SUMMARY
The Castle & Key Hospitality Custodian is expected to exemplify everything the brand represents in terms of overall behavior, quality of execution, good taste, professional image, and discretion. The primary role of the Hospitality Custodian is to clean and maintain the buildings, facilities, and equipment in our Hospitality areas. Castle & Key takes pride in our campus and sees it as a reflection of our brand. The Hospitality Custodian should be thorough and thoughtful when working around our product, equipment and guests. This position will require a high level of flexibility, motivation and organization. The Hospitality Custodian is an integral part of the Hospitality team and will often engage with guests on-site and members of the Castle & Key team.
DETAIL OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Oversee and maintain the cleanliness and safety of all Hospitality areas, Octagonal & Distillery bathrooms
- Maintain environmental service supplies and equipment, ensuring the availability of items required to maintain the facility. Order supplies when necessary.
- Maintain the Hospitality Uniform Program
- Remove and dispose of trash and recycling following an operational day in all hospitality spaces
- Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
- Daily cleaning and sanitizing of Taylorton restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors
- Restock restroom items, such as soap and paper products
- Dust Boiler Room shelves and displays
- Daily cleaning of windows in Hospitality areas
- Oversee the cleanliness of our outdoor guest space
- Open to guest engagement by knowing the Castle & Key brand
- Support other areas in the distillery as needed
- Attend monthly Hospitality meetings
- Notify Guest Manager about unsafe conditions or the need for repairs or maintenance
- Clean other assigned areas as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Degree/GED preferred
- 1-5 years of professional work experience as custodian, janitor, or a similar role preferred
- Working knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals and how to maintain them
- Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies
- Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments
- Ability to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team
- Ability to drive a golf cart
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Ability to push, pull, lift objects > 50 pounds
- Exposure to extreme weather and temperature conditions (heat, cold, wet)
- Off hours, including weekends and some nights, are required
Must be able to work normal operating hours 9:30 am - 6:00 pm - Wednesday - Sunday.
