Hospitality Manager

J. Rieger & Co. is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Hospitality Manager to join our exciting and growing team. We’re asking for flexible evening availability that includes weekdays and weekends.

The Hospitality Manager at J. Rieger & Co. plays a key leadership role in directing and organizing the daily operations of all hospitality outlets. This position ensures that each guest interaction reflects the highest standards of service, food and beverage quality, and brand consistency. The role includes oversight of outlet scheduling, staff development, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency, while fostering a culture that embodies J. Rieger & Co.’s values of hospitality, community, and quality.

Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

• Plan, direct, and delegate all administrative and operational functions for J. Rieger & Co. outlets.
• Monitor, develop, and implement schedules to meet operational needs.
• Control proper usage of tools, equipment, and service materials.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

Team Leadership & Development

• Hire, train, supervise, develop, discipline, and evaluate F&B team members.
• Motivate and develop associates for future advancement within the company.
• Lead by example, fostering a professional and respectful work culture.
• Conduct and participate in meetings, including but not limited to weekly manager and BEO meetings.

Guest Experience & Service Standards

• Maintain thorough knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, preparation, and service standards.
• Regularly review and evaluate guest satisfaction, addressing and resolving service or quality issues.
• Uphold the highest standards of hospitality across all outlets and guest touchpoints.

Technology & Systems Management

• Utilize core software platforms such as GSuite, Gmail, Slack, and Dropbox.
• Develop proficiency with Toast, Square, Tock, AnyRoad, and TripleSeat.
• Ensure accurate and efficient use of technology in daily operations.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure a safe working environment for all associates.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across all work and service areas.
• Enforce proper food safety and alcohol service practices.

About J. Rieger & Co:

J. Rieger & Co. was founded in 1887 in Kansas City’s West Bottoms Livestock Exchange district. The brand offered over 100 alcoholic products and took pride in maintaining a quarter of a million unique customers by offering mail-order delivery services. In 1919, Prohibition was enacted by the federal government and wasn’t reversed until 1933. J. Rieger & Co. was a casualty at the time, but was not destined to be lost forever. In 2014, we revived Kansas City’s historic and iconic distillery, opening a visitor experience for the first time in July of 2019 in historic Electric Park.

Our distillery offers daily tours, tastings, four distinct bar spaces serving cocktails, food, beer and wine, as well as space for private events. Our service is professional, imbued with sincere hospitality and defined by our desire to always build relationships.

Helpful Experience:

Experience: 2+ years in the hospitality industry, customer service, or a related field.

Knowledge: Strong knowledge of spirits production, cocktails and the beverage industry.

Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent customer service and leadership abilities.

Personality: Outgoing, enthusiastic, and passionate about delivering quality guest experiences to create a positive impression of the J Rieger & Co brand.

Availability: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of the distillery's operating hours and special events.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
