Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Hostess to join our team at an upscale restaurant in downtown San Jose. This temporary position will play a key role in providing a welcoming and seamless guest experience, ensuring the smooth operation of the front of the house during peak times. The Hostess will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring that each guest feels valued and taken care of from the moment they enter our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables, ensuring a pleasant and efficient seating experience.
• Manage reservations, phone inquiries, and maintain an organized waiting list as needed.
• Answer questions about the menu, restaurant policies, and provide information about the dining experience.
• Collaborate with the server and management team to optimize seating arrangements and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area.
• Assist in coordinating special requests or reservations for private events and VIP guests.
• Monitor dining area to ensure all guests are attended to and have a positive experience.
• Maintain professionalism and grace under pressure during busy service hours.
• Assist with other tasks as needed, including greeting guests on the phone and supporting the front-of-house team during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Familiarity with food service operations
• Background in hospitality and guest relations
• Ability to manage guest interactions and maintain a welcoming atmosphere

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
