Host

The Host as Brunch is a crucial role who we like to call “the conductor of the entire operation.” The Host is who controls the entire pace and seating of the restaurant, and ultimately defines how the day will be set up for success in the way that seating is structured and paced.

Success in this role means ticket times never exceeding 16 minutes on weekends, that all customers are greeted with a smile and conversation from the moment they walk in the door, that the experience is high quality and speedy, and that our customers have the best Brunch experience possible.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

● Weekday Ticket Times: 12 minutes or less

● Weekend Ticket Times: 16 minutes or less

● Greeting: Immediately

● Pacing: Tables sat at least 2 minutes apart

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Greeting

○ All guests must be greeted with a smile and immediately when they walk into the door. A host must be kind, generous, talkative, and the most charismatic person in the room. A host must always be positive in all situations & offer opportunistic solutions while thinking outside the box.

2. Wait List

○ Manage the Wait list swiftly and with structure. It is imperative that the line at the door go on the wait list first as priority, and that customers are notified immediately when a table is ready to be sat, and promptly sat upon arrival. The host must always over quote the wait by approx 25% (15 minute wait = quoted 20 minutes / etc) so as to under promise and over deliver to the customer.

3. Pacing / Seating

○ Customers must be sat in increments of 2-3 minutes once the restaurant is at 50% capacity. Double seating a server = double seating a kitchen. The host must be confident & own the wait list instead of letting it consume him/her. Must be extremely organized and be able to stand your ground while being honest & communicative with customers.

4. Communication - The Host must be an exceptional communicator, constantly checking in with the Kitchen, Busser, Manager, and Servers, to ensure everyone is on the same page and that the restaurant is not being sat too slow or too fast.

This role requires a proactive, communicative, charismatic natural leader who loves talking to people, staying organized, and leading the way. This person must show a desire to lead and grow, and must be a self starter.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
