The Host/Reservationist serves as the face of Campsite Brewing Co., creating a positive first impression for our guests. This dual role is responsible for managing reservations, greeting and seating guests, and ensuring a seamless dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Experience:
- Warmly greet and welcome guests as they arrive.
- Provide accurate wait time estimates and manage seating arrangements to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Reservations Management:
- Oversee and manage the reservation system, including taking phone, email, and online bookings.
- Confirm reservations and communicate with guests regarding special requests, dietary restrictions, or private events.
- Monitor and update table statuses throughout the shift to ensure efficient seating.
- Operational Support:
- Coordinate with the taproom and kitchen teams to manage guest flow and optimize table turnover.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding special seating arrangements or large parties.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized host station and waiting area.
- Customer Relations:
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints with professionalism and resolve them promptly.
- Uphold Campsite Brewing Co.'s standards of service and hospitality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a host, reservationist, or customer service role preferred.
- Familiarity with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of previous experience in a host, reservationist, or customer service role.
- Basic Knowledge of FOH procedures and practices.
- Must be Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) Certified.
- Able to obtain a Level 1 Beer Server Cicerone certification with 14 days of employment.
- Must have a Food Handlers Card.
- Team Oriented.
- Motivated, driven and able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds (such as beverage containers, ice buckets, trays of food or drinks, and trash disposal).
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, and squatting.
- Frequently required to use hand-to-finger motions, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must regularly move throughout the brewpub between guest areas and kitchen areas while carrying items.
- Ability to work in a state of constant alertness and maintain safety at all times.
- Must be able to understand and respond to directions and spatial awareness cues commonly used in restaurant settings (e.g., "behind" and "corner").
- May occasionally be required to work in outdoor environments or areas with fluctuating temperatures (such as patio dining spaces).
COMPENSATION
- $17.28 an hour plus tips.
- Discounts on beer, merchandise and food.
SCHEDULE
Part-time; weeknight and weekend availability are required.
REPORTING
The Host will report to the Taproom Manager, the ownership, or anyone appointed by ownership.
