Job Summary:
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This role includes managing reservations, seating guests efficiently, and ensuring a smooth flow of service. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and provide menus.
Seating Management: Monitor table availability and manage the waitlist to optimize seating efficiency.
Reservation Coordination: Take reservations over the phone or through online systems and manage booking schedules.
Communication: Coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
Problem-Solving: Address guest concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.
Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a tidy host stand, entrance area, and menus.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to restaurant policies, including health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Positive attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Prior experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus.
Basic knowledge of reservation systems is beneficial.
Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift light objects.
