Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, making them feel comfortable and valued from the moment they walk in.
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure accurate seating arrangements.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times.
- Maintain a clean, organized reception area and ensure menus are tidy and available for guests.
- Provide guests with information about menu options, specials, and restaurant policies with clear communication skills.
- Handle guest inquiries over the phone with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Assist in managing guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously to enhance overall guest satisfaction.
- Support the team during busy hours by helping with basic food service tasks or guest assistance when needed.
- Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host or host in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and a friendly attitude are key!
- Strong communication skills to connect effectively with guests, team members, and management.
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
- Knowledge of food service operations, including restaurant procedures and guest services, is highly desirable.
- Excellent phone etiquette and ability to handle guest inquiries professionally over the phone.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a passion for hospitality and creating positive guest experiences.
