Job Purpose

Tiny Boxwoods Productions’ Hosts care deeply about our culture. They will provide a genuine sense of hospitality and exceed guests’ expectations by providing friendly, authentic, and polite service with a pleasing personality and a smile. Hosts are the face of our restaurant and must accurately embody the Tiny Boxwoods Productions brand.

Duties And Responsibilities

The primary job duties and responsibilities of being a Host and Hostess include but are not limited to the following:

  • Must learn and be knowledgeable of reservation software.
  • Greet every guest with a smile and genuine enthusiasm.
  • Strategizes guest seating based on server workload and keeps track of table status.
  • Must learn and be knowledgeable of food and beverage offerings.
  • When needed, reset tables correctly with polished glassware, cutlery, and linen.
  • Minimal food handling of cookies and to-go pastry items.
  • Must adhere to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policy and regulations.
  • Various light cleaning tasks and side work.
  • Answer and directing phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Communicate clearly with guests and other staff members.
  • Perform up to company standards, expectations, and policies.
  • Must always be pressed and tailored and follows company dress code policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Tiny Boxwoods Productions require the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the position of Host:

  • Texas Food Handlers certificate
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Great memory
  • Must possess a polite and hospitable attitude
  • Flexible availability in scheduling possibly including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Capacity to multitask
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to take direction


Working conditions

The incumbent will be working in a restaurant and bar setting. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping and tripping. Incumbent may also be required to work in an outdoor setting. Frequent handwashing is required.

Physical Requirements

The incumbent is required to stand for the entire shift, minimal lifting maybe required. Must be able to hear, read, write, and determine wait time based on Tiny Boxwoods Productions procedures. Must be able to visually scan restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables.
