Host or Food Runner

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, managing reservations, and ensuring efficient seating arrangements. This role is crucial in providing exceptional customer service and enhancing the dining experience.

**We are only hiring applicants who are available to work through USC breaks; this including being generally available to work on USC Spring Break, Graduation, and over the summer**

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables, ensuring a pleasant first impression.
• Manage reservations and maintain an organized seating chart to optimize table turnover.
• Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing information about the menu and making reservations as needed.
• Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
• Handle guest inquiries and concerns promptly, maintaining high standards of guest relations.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area.
• Utilize TOAST POS system for efficient order processing when necessary.
• Utilize Resy for reservation scheduling and organizing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Host or in a similar role within the food service or hospitality industry is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and relationship building.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly demeanor.
• Familiarity with POS systems; experience with Toast POS is a plus.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience in guest services or restaurant settings is advantageous.
